Michigan made.

After two decades of making Michigan-inspired Cedar Shore Soaps & other goods in a tiny cabin on our property, suggestions & support for an actual shop evolved into Applecore General Store-- a love letter to Michigan & its industrious makers. Our soft opening was December 2016, followed by our full time store launch July of 2017.

Applecore offers Michigan-made gourmet foods and sweets, art, crafts, home goods, & accessories that celebrate the art & craft of the Great Lakes State. Housed in a 120-year-old farmhouse on the M-134 Pure Michigan Byway, the shop is now the retail home of Les Cheneaux-made Cedar Shore Soaps, as well as a wealth of goods from 100+ local and Michigan makers.

As always, Cedar Shore Soaps' bath & body care products are made with all natural, skin-loving ingredients. Other Applecore offerings include Michigan cherry products, locally roasted coffee, knit hats & fiber art, original illustrations & art prints, ceramics, natural body care products, jams & sauces, meat & bbq seasonings, mustard, maple syrup & sugar, wood products, stuffed toys, & a few curated vintage items tucked among the shelves.

Our name is a nod to a favorite Disney cartoon, "Donald Applecore," and we embraced the general store name not only because it rhymes, but because it defines a place like ours that sells a wide variety of goods. You never know what you might find here as we continue to discover more of what Michigan has to offer.

We are updating our site so you can buy nearly all the products sold in the store from the comfort of your couch! Please bear with us during this work in progress. Thank you so much for your support over the years, & I look forward to seeing you soon!

With love & gratitude,

Amy, Owner of Applecore General Store
