Affectionately called “The Snows” by many who have been in and still are in Les Cheneaux, this nickname persists in Snows Channel, Snows Bar and Grill, Snows Heritage Park, and our memories. Did it come from a corruption of the name, Les Cheneaux, or is it from (as lore would tell) a more lyrical way of describing the snow-covered islands in winter?
